Hugo's

Everyone knows how much Texians love Mexican food, but Houstonians take it to another level. From Tacos to Burritos to even Tres Leches, Houstonians do not care as long as it is from Mexico. And one of the top Mexican restaurants in the city is Hugo's. Hugo's is different from most Mexican restaurants by adding a modern spin on a rather traditional culture. I have always loved their tacos for being unique and delicious. Located at 1600 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77006.

Pinkerton's Barbecue

If you don't think about BBQ when thinking about Texas, then there is no way you are thinking of Texas. What can be more iconic to Texas than a big pile of barbecued food. And if you want some of the best barbequed food in this part of Texas, then you have to go to Pinkerton's BBQ. They serve all the BBQ classics such as ribs, brisket, sausage, etc. I recommend their Prime Brisket; it is out of this world. Located at 1504 Airline Dr, Houston, TX 77009.

House of Pies

Houston might be known as the city of bad sports teams and BBQ lovers, but in reality, it is the city of amazing pies. Houstonians do not care if it is cream, fruit, or chocolate; if it is a pie, they love it. And they especially love the classic Texas Pecan Pie, a staple in The Lone Star State. If you want the best type of pie in every form, then you must go to House of Pies. Their pies are indeed a slice of heaven. Located at 3112 Kirby Dr, Houston, TX 77098.

Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse

Is there a better way to end a night than with a steak dinner? No, I don't think so. And there is a difference between a good steak dinner and a Vic & Anthony's steak dinner. Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse knows how to prepare steaks, sides, and even seafood to utter perfection. Though everything looks and smells incredible, I always get the Filet Mignon, which is unbelievable. Located at 1510 Texas Ave, Houston, TX 77002.

Brennan's of Houston

Texas might be most known for Mexican and American dishes, but Louisiana also plays a massive role in influencing Texas cuisine. Brennan's is a Creole restaurant that specializes in all things New Orleans. Some famous dishes they serve include turtle soup, bouillabaisse, and oysters. Located at 3300 Smith St, Houston, TX 77006.

Niko Niko's

Greece and Houston might have nothing in common, but one thing is for sure, Houstonians love Greek food. Their love for Greek food inspired the creation of one of Houston's most iconic restaurants, Niko Niko's. Known for having the best Greek food in Houston, Niko Niko's never disappoints. Their best-selling gyros are incredible and never fail to hit the spot. Located at 2520 Montrose Blvd, Houston, TX 77006.

Gatlin's BBQ

Name me one thing more iconic in Texas than BBQ. No, sports are not more iconic, and neither is Tex-Mex. Texans and especially Houstonians go crazy for their rack of ribs and piece of brisket. However, Houstonians are very picky about where good BBQ is made. And they love Gatlin's BBQ. For a good reason though, it is amazing. Located at 3510 Ella Blvd Bldg C Ste A, Houston, TX 77018.

The Breakfast Klub

Is there a better way to start your morning than eating breakfast next to a bunch of strangers? No, I don't think so. That's what makes The Breakfast Klub so unique: locals, tourists, businessmen, and even entire families come together to do something in common. And the breakfast is indeed remarkable. Their signature Wings and Waffles has been attracting all kinds of people for over 20 years. Located at 3711 Travis St, Houston, TX 77002.

Taste of Texas

If anything could taste like Texas then it would definitely be steak. Just thinking of steak reminds me of Texas. So if you want to indulge in some of the best steak not only in Houston but in Texas, then you have to hit up Taste of Texas. They serve these huge steaks that show why everything is bigger in Texas. Their Prime Rib has always been my favorite and never seems to fall short. Located at 10505 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77024.

The Original Ninfa's

When talking about iconic Houston restaurants, there is no way The Original Ninfa's doesn't come to mind. This classic establishment has been serving typical Mexican cuisine for almost 50 years. And everyone knows how much Houstonians love their Mexican food. Fajitas, tacos, and margaritas get most of the recognition, but everything on their menu is incredible. I personally love their tacos for being unique yet still fantastic. Located at 2704 Navigation Blvd, Houston, TX 77003.
